While members of the company were just finishing up daily checks of the apparatus a 46 box was transmitted for a report of a house on fire with people possibly trapped. Truck Co.37 with 6 men were assigned the 1st due truck assignment on the box alarm, and arrived with smoke showing and a working basement fire. The truck crew split into the inside and outside teams completing searches of the basement, opening up and laddering the structure. Truck Co.37 remained on scene for approximately 2.5 hours before returning to service.
At approximately 2130 hours, Halloween night, an 8 box was transmitted for a report of a house on fire in the 700 block of Birchleaf Avenue, sending Truck Co. 37 as the second due truck. Companies arrived on scene to find fire showing from the 1st and 2nd floor of a duplex with a possible exposure problem. Truck Co.37 completed their assigned tasks laddering, searching and opening up the fire building while operating for several hours before returning to service.
