RITCHIE RECEIVES HOME DEPOT FOUNDATION GRANT

The Ritchie Volunteer Fire Department is excited to announce that we have been selected by the Home Depot Foundation as a recipient of the 2014 Community Impact Grant program. We have been awarded $8,500 to help facelift one of the most important areas of any firehouse; the kitchen. Not only does this provide much needed updates to our station, it helps promote a better environment for the Volunteer membership, while helping take a financial burden off the department. The Capitol Heights Home Depot has proven time and time again to be valued supporters of the community, and this truly shows how much they care. We are also grateful for the amount of time the Home Depot Team has put into helping us successfully obtain this grant, from the multiple station visits to helping with paperwork, we really appreciate it.
Since we have been awarded the grant, we have been finalizing the particulars of the project which will include a complete kitchen remodel, new flooring throughout our hallway and sitting area, painting, and appliances. We are anticipating the work to begin in the near future, which will happen similar to an HGTV weekend warrior project, with both members of the Home Depot Team and Ritchie completing the work.
