ENGINE RUNS FIRST DUE BUILDING FIRE

Just prior to 1pm, communications transmitted 3 beeps for a reported building fire at 1000 Ritchie Road in the first due. Engine 371 with 4 volunteers responded on the assignment and arrived to find smoke showing from a 1 story warehouse used by Waste Management as a processing facility. The engine quickly stretched the 400′ 1 1/2 attack line into the building and found a shredder machine on fire. The fire was quickly exinguished by Engine 371 while the special services on the scene were openning up and checking for extension. With no extension to any portions of the structure the building was natrually ventilate and the assignment was scaled back. Engine 371 returned to quarters about 2 hours later.
