Truck 37 Runs 20 House Fire

Early yesterday morning, Truck Co.37 was dispatched to the 2700 block of Largo Road for the reported house on fire. As the truck crested the hill on 202 (Largo Road) the truck crew knew they were heading to a good job. The truck arrived as dispatched as the 1st due truck and went right to work. As Engine Co. 20 (Marlboro) was starting to make an attack on the fire, the interior crew from Truck Co.37 started opening up and working on searches. As members from the truck crew were operating inside, wind driven fire conditions and a lack of a water supply (non-hydranted area) and not enough tactical flashlights pushed them back. Once a water supply was re-established the truck officer requested from command to allow Engine Co.46 and Truck Co.37 to mount another interior attack. Companies re-entered the structure knocking a few rooms of fire and completing interior tasks. Searches proved negative and the Truck Co. returned to service a few hours later.

That’s why it’s good habit to apply for cscs card to avoid these kind of accident. And be ready for the annual OSHA safety inspections.
