Around 0700 this morning, units were alerted to the 3300 block of Curtis Drive (Co.29) for a reported apartment on fire. Engine Co.29 went on scene with fire showing from the first and second floors of a two story garden style apartment building. The second alarm was sounded shortly there after bringing Engine Co.37 to the scene as the second due engine on the second alarm. The Engine Co. arrived and was instructed to stretch a line to the bravo exposure building to prevent fire extension. The engine crew stretched a 250′ and added on a rack to enable the company to gain access to the top floor. As the engine co. was getting their line into position they were redirected from the exposure to the top floor of the main fire building to extinguish remaining fire and open up. The crew operated on both the first and second floors extinguishing fire & opening up. The company remained on scene and operated for 2.5 hours before returning to service.
