Moments after 2200 hours, Public Safety Communications started receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a townhouse on fire in the area of Karen Blvd and Ronald Rd. PSC dispatched the initial box alarm assignment (Engine 26,5,37,23 Truck 38, 33 & Squad 27) to the area of Wilberforce Ct in the Seat Pleasant area of the County, Engine 26 arrived minutes later correcting the location as a Dillon Ct address, and reported a 2 story “end of the row” townhouse with fire through the roof, with extension into the exposure. Upon completion of the 360, units advised they had fire in the basement and that the second townhouse was well involved. The working fire dispatch was sounded (Engine 27 & Truck 28) as well as the Fire Task Force (Engine 33 Engine 29 & Squad 6) bringing additional units to the scene.
Engine 373 (3rd Due) arrived right behind Engine 26, and laid a supply line. With initial units operating in the rear, Engine 37 stretched through the front of the primary structure for the protection of the search group (Squad 27) and to start knocking down fire on the 1st & 2nd floor. With units operating on almost all floors and sides of both townhouses, command requested the 2nd alarm (Engine 46, 9, 30, 20 Truck 9, 43, 55) to assist with additional exposure problems and relief efforts. The fire was brought under control within an hour. Units operated on the scene for several hours before heading home.
